Maestri – 2021 contest
Maestri is a solid wooden chair inspired by the great work of two italian artists from different periods transferred to our present time: Masaccio (Renaissance) and Bernini (Baroque).
The front elements of the chair resemble the presence of columns with fluted shafts, classic from the Renaissance, and a single upper arch as in Masaccio’s “Holy Trinity”, which when synthesized contrast the elegance and movement of the object. The harmonious shape at the back, appreciable from any angle, honors the sculptor Bernini with its colonnaded and oval structure of St. Peter’s Square. Finally, rapresenting an element of the twentieth century that began the development of modern furniture, a thin line used by the master Thonet that provides stability and beauty to the legs.
All these details enhance the structure of the furniture, which, due to its organic shape, combines with traditional and modern interior spaces.
