Emerging from the 2020 edition of the #Ideas4wood Emerging from the 2020 edition of the #Ideas4wood Carpanelli Award in the Professionals category, the Alfea sideboard stands as one of the most eloquent expressions of the dialogue between architectural inspiration and the enduring values of Italian design culture.Inspired by one of the most iconic landmarks of Italian architecture, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Alfea reinterprets vertical tension through a fluid and horizontal silhouette. Its rounded ends, defined by circular cross-sections, blend harmoniously with elongated volumes, achieving a refined balance between classical heritage and contemporary sensibility. The purity of its form is enhanced by an exquisite geometric inlay, while the top, available in lacquered glass, marble, wood or leather, allows for elegant customization. Hand-stitched leather upholstery and a metal base in bronze-gold or lead finish add a sense of artisanal sophistication and distinctive character. Combining visual elegance with generous internal space, Alfea features thoughtfully designed shelving that ensures functional organization without compromising its refined spirit.This creation is the result of the visionary talent of designer Mattia Fornari, developed in close collaboration with Carpanelli’s research and development department. A project that bridges architectural language and craftsmanship, telling a story of tradition reinterpreted through a contemporary lens.—Ispirata alla celebre Torre di Pisa, la credenza Alfea trasforma linee verticali in un profilo orizzontale sinuoso. Le estremità arrotondate si uniscono a volumi allungati, bilanciando classicità e innovazione. La purezza delle forme è valorizzata da un intarsio geometrico e da un top personalizzabile in vetro, marmo, legno o cuoio. Il rivestimento in cuoio cucito a mano e la base in metallo con finiture bronzo-oro o piombo aggiungono eleganza e carattere. Alfea combina estetica raffinata e ampi spazi interni, con ripiani funzionali.
